Conrad hated the shrine. There was nothing good about that cursed octagon. But he hid his disgust under a thin smile.
Large, violet eyes, watched him as they’d watched the centuries pass. Most of her life had been spent within the confines of the shrine, but she wasn’t naïve enough to believe his smile was genuine.
She had long served as the Shinou’s voice. She had been the one to deliver Julia’s soul and sent him to Dai Shimeron. And while she was sure he didn’t blame her for this, she was just as sure he couldn’t forgive her either.
